thought i would update again....I am trying to do it more often...but everytime I have something to say, I am not around my computer. When I do sit down to post, everything I want to seems to escape my mind. I should carry around a piece of paper and write down my thoughts like Jen used to do. (She was the best roommate ever and I miss her so much but I wish the world to her).
My boss called me into work today to offer me a opportunity. He offered me the position of an overnight manager. I took it. He also offered me a pay raise and more to come within a couple of months. Plus he also agreed that I can have three nights off. I was planning on quiting, but after talking to him, I decided not too. I was looking for a job that paid more than 7 more preferably at least 8. I will be getting that here. That was one of the reasons why I wanting to leave McDonalds, but not anymore.
This fall I am going to be starting preliminary work on my thesis. My focus is going to be the american west. The prof who is teaching the class is also going to chair my committee. He is amazed at how I want to get a head start on it. I just want to get it done. I am still exploring the field to find a more precise topic to write about. I wish the Dr Johnson was teaching at a graduate school so I could have him as my thesis chair. That would be awesome.
Life takes many unexpected turns and sacrifices from everyone. I was planning to go home this month and then I was planning to go home next month. But it does not look like its gonna happen. I have not seen my family for a year at the end of the month. That is especially hard when your coming from a close tight knit family. Really hard.
I am anxiously waiting to hear from my parents. My dad when in for some tests this morning as a caution. His older brother did it too. Nothing was found in his brother's test. I hope nothing is wrong with my dad. Their mom has cancer. It is hard seeing someone you care about and love slowly dying and you cant do anything about it. Could you please pray for him and for my grandmother. Thanks so much.
